Structural Alterations in Surrey
Opening your home up — knocking through, steel beams and load-bearing changes, engineered and signed off properly. Built across Weybridge, Esher, Cobham and the surrounding towns.
Structural alterations
Open up your home, safely
Knocking two rooms into one, removing a chimney breast or taking out a load-bearing wall transforms how a house feels — but it has to be done right. We work to a structural engineer's design, install the steel beams (RSJs) and supports, and manage Building Control inspections from start to finish.
From a single knock-through to opening up the whole ground floor, our own team handles the propping, steelwork, making good and finishing — so the job is safe, signed off, and you'd never know a wall was ever there.

Done properly
Engineered, signed off, made good
The visible result is a bigger, brighter room — but the value is in the parts you don't see: the right beam, properly supported, inspected and certified. We handle the engineer, the steel and Building Control so it's safe and sound for good.

Your questions, answered
Do I need a structural engineer?
Yes — any load-bearing change needs an engineer's calculations to size the beam and supports. We work with engineers we trust and can arrange this as part of the job.
Will Building Control need to be involved?
Yes. Structural alterations require Building Regulations approval, and we manage the inspections throughout so everything is properly signed off.
Is it disruptive?
There's noise and dust on the days the opening is formed, but we prop and protect the area, keep things as clean as possible, and work to a clear programme.
Can you do the finishing too?
Absolutely — we make good the plastering, flooring and decoration around the new opening so it's a finished room, not just a hole with a beam.
